Question

(6): Some speakers narrate a report stating that when the Holy Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلمset out for the Miʿraaj and was about to remove His صلى الله عليه وسلمBlessed Sandals, He صلى الله عليه وسلمwas instructed not to remove them. The

question is: Is this narration established or not?

Answer

Research scholars and Hadith experts have declared this narration to be completely unfounded and false. Accordingly, Imame-Ahl-e-Sunnat Sayyidi Ala Hazrat Alaihir Rahmah writes regarding this narration that it is nothing but a lie and a fabricated narration. (Ahkaam e Shari'at, Part 2, Page 164) In Bahaar-e-Shari'at, Huzoor Sadrush-Shariah Alaihir Rahmah writes: “It is commonly stated that on the night of the Miʿraaj, the Holy Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلمascended to the Throne while wearing His صلى الله عليه وسلمBlessed Sandals and orators also narrate a report in this regard. However, there is no proof for it, nor is it established that He صلى الله عليه وسلمwas barefoot. Therefore, remaining silent on this matter is most appropriate.” (Bahaar-e-Shari'at, Volume 16, Page 246, Qadri Kitaab Ghar, Bareilly Shareef)

Similarly, a study of Fataawa Shaarh e Bukhari Volume 1, Page 307, Fataawa Bareilly Shareef Page 352, and Anwaarul Fataawa Page 190 also shows that the narration mentioned in the question is baseless and fabricated. Therefore, it is necessary and essential to refrain from relating it.
