Answer
Preparing food, offering Faatiha, distributing Niyaaz, and feeding others with the intention of conveying reward to Hazrat Sayyiduna Imam Husain RadiAllahu Anhu and the noble martyrs of Karbala is totally permissible in Islam and is regarded as a praiseworthy act. Imam-e-Ahle Sunnat Sayyidi Huzoor Ala-Hazrat Alaihir Rahma writes in Fataawa Razviyyah Shareef: "Distributing sweets, feeding others, offering Faatiha, and giving Niyaaz, even when done on a specified date are permissible in Shariah, provided that such specification is not regarded as a binding religious obligation. The Holy Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلمsaid:

(Saheeh Muslim Shareef) Moreover, Hazrat Imam Badruddeen Mahmood Ainy Alaihir Rahma in his Binaayah (commentary on Hidaayah) has cited the consensus (ijma) of the Ummah on the legitimacy and excellence of conveying reward (Esaal-e-Thawaab) to the deceased, affirming that this is the established belief of Ahl-e-Sunnat wa Jama'at.
