Giving Zakaat To Siblings
Question
Is it persmissible to give my Zakaat to my sister who is in financial difficulty?
Answer
After investigation, as long as you are convinced and satisfied that your sister is eligible to be a recipient of Zakaat, you are permitted to give your Zakaat to her. Your Zakaat will be discharged.
As a matter of fact, you will acquire double the Thawaab for giving Zakaat to her. One reward is for fulfilling your obligation of Zakaat, while the other is for upholding ties of kinship with your sister.
