Mahr of the noble wives of Nabi Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam
Question
What was the Mahr of the Azwaaj-e-Mutahharaat, and specifically, the Mahr of Ummi Habeebah Radiallahu Anha?
Answer
It is recorded in Mirqaat (commentary of Mishkaat Sharif) that the Mahr of the noble wives of Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam was 500 Dirhams. However, the Mahr of Umme Habeebah Radhiallahu Anha was either 4000 Dirhams (silver coins) or 400 Dinaars (gold coins). The Mahr of Umme Habeebah Radiallahu Anha was given from the wealth of Najaashi, in honour of Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam.
