Marrying a Hindu
Question
Please can you advise what the ruling will be if a Muslim female is to marry a Hindu male. The wedding will be conducted under the Hindu rites. Is it permissible for the her mahram to partake in the ceremony?
Answer
The Qur'an has prohibited marrying idol worshippers. Hence it is haraam for a Muslim girl to marry a Hindu. The nikaah will not be valid and one will perpetually be living in zina.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
