Marrying one's divorced wife’s sister while the divorced wife is in iddat
Question
Is it permissible for one to marry his divorced wife’s sister while his divorced wife is in iddat?
Answer
It is not permissible for him to marry his divorced wife’s sister while his wife is in iddat. After she comes out of iddat, he may marry her sister.

( و ) حرم ( الجمع ) بين المحارم ( نكاحا ) أي عقدا صحيحا ( وعدة ولو من طلاق بائن) (الدر المختار 3/38)
ولا يحل أن يتزوج أخت معتدته سواء كانت العدة عن طلاق رجعي أو بائن أو ثلاث أو عن نكاح فاسد أو عن شبهة وكما لا يجوز أن يتزوج أختها في عدتها فكذا لا يجوز أن يتزوج واحدة من ذوات المحارم التي لا يجوز الجمع بين اثنتين منهن وكذا لا يجوز أن يتزوج أربعا سواها عنده هكذا في الكافي.(الفتاوى الهندية 1/279)
