Taking back zakaat money
Question
I gave my zakaat to a lady to purchase a blender to start her business after she informed me that she was eligible to collect Zakaat. Later I found out from her that she used the money for unnecessary things and had no intention of furthering her business. She still has the balance of the money. Do I take the balance and give it to someone who is deserving of Zakaat?
Answer
Your zakaat is discharged. It is not permissible for you to take the money back from her.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
