Religion of a child that is born out of wedlock
Question
If the child is born out of wedlock and the mother is a Christian and the father is a Muslim. What is the procedure to follow? Does the baby get a Muslim name? What happens if the parents don't want to get married?
Answer
Try your best to give the child a Muslim identity and try to let him be brought up by Muslims.
It is haraam for them to be living together; it is an act of fornicaiton.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
