Question

Can a Muslim girl marry a Muslim boy without her parents consent? They like each otherand both of them study in a well-known varsity. Both of them are aware of their future but their parents will not allow them to marry now because both of them are not established. Recently they got involved in some sort of physical relationship that they cannot resist. So they want to be married to get rid of the sin. Can they marry now if they want to without their parents consent?

Answer

One of the requirements for the nikaah to be valid is that the boy must be of the same social standing. The social standing is that which is defined by the shariah.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
