Giving zakaat to adopted children
Question
Please advise whether a father or mother can give their adopted children their zakaat money if they are entitled to collect zakaat.
Answer
If they are baaligh and eligible, it is permissible. If they are not baaligh and their parents are unknown, then also it is permissible. However, if they are not baaligh and their parents are known and their father is wealthy, it will not be permissible to give them zakaat.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
