Question

I have loaned a fellow Muslim money. She has disputed paying the total with no valid reason.

She has mailed me to say that she is willing to pay half of the amount due to me in 6 monthly installments. Am I obliged to forgive her?

Answer

If she is in need then it is your duty to be considerate towards her.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.

Ask Mufti Online

Fatawa SA is an independent, read-only index of fatawa already published by Mufti Online — Madrasah Ta'leemuddeen. It is not a fatwa service. For your own situation, ask the issuing Darul Ifta directly.
