Engagement functions
Question
I have a question about engagement functions. Is it halaal or haraam?
Answer
There is no need to have a formal engagement. It is about a confirmation. The confirmation can be done over the phone, through an email or whichever other way. All the frills and fancies that have been introduced are baseless and not in accordance with the sunnah.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
