Giving one's first income as a gift to one's mother
Question
I am currently working for an income for the first time in my life. My father is telling me to give as a gift my first income to my mother so that I would have barakah in my wealth.
Can I disobey him as I need the money and my mother is not in need as far as I know. My parents do not live together.
Answer
Give her something so that it may keep your parents happy and assure them that you will continue supporting them. Also, give them gifts from time to time.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
