Question

We have a pet cat however he’s gone old and constantly urinates all over the house. I understand that cats themselves are considered to be pure animals as pets but I find this constant urination extremely unethical and unhygienic. What is the law regarding the urination of cats?

Answer

The urine of a cat is najis (napaak). If the urine comes on any clothing, carpet etc., the area of the impurity will have to be washed to remove the impurity.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
