Assisting in evil
Question
Please tell if it is permissible to buy things like razor for your father or another elder, who uses it for shaving their beard? Also, like they ask you to go and buy remote control for TV or like batteries for the remote control etc. Should we act upon their (such) commands?
Answer
If you are certain that he is going to shave his beard then do not buy it for him.

يَأَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تُحِلُّوا شَعَائِرَ اللَّـهِ وَلَا الشَّهْرَ الْحَرَامَ وَلَا الْهَدْيَ وَلَا الْقَلَائِدَ وَلَا آمِّينَ الْبَيْتَ الْحَرَامَ يَبْتَغُونَ فَضْلًا مِّن رَّبِّهِمْ وَرِضْوَانًا وَإِذَا حَلَلْتُمْ فَاصْطَادُوا وَلَا يَجْرِمَنَّكُمْ شَنَآنُ قَوْمٍ أَن صَدُّوكُمْ عَنِ الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ أَن تَعْتَدُوا وَتَعَاوَنُوا عَلَى الْبِرِّ وَالتَّقْوَى وَلَا تَعَاوَنُوا عَلَى الْإِثْمِ وَالْعُدْوَانِ وَاتَّقُوا اللَّـهَ إِنَّ اللَّـهَ شَدِيدُ الْعِقَابِ ﴿المائدة: ٢﴾
وعن النواس بن سمعان قال قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم لا طاعة لمخلوق في معصية الخالق رواه في شرح السنة (مشكاة رقم3696)
