Honouring an old person
Question
Is the following Hadith saheeh? Nabi (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) said "If a young man honours an elderly on account of his age, Allah appoints someone to honour him in his old age." (At-Tirmidhi)
Answer
According to the Muhadditeen, though the chain of this Hadith is not Saheeh, it can be quoted and practised upon as it's meaning is supported by authentic Ahaadith.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.

حدثنا محمد بن المثنى حدثنا يزيد بن بيان العقيلي حدثنا ابو الرحال الأنصاري عن أنس بن مالك قال : قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه و سلم ما أكرم شاب شيخا لسنه إلا قيض الله له من يكرمه عند سنه قال أبو عيسى هذا حديث غريب لا نعرفه إلا من حديث هذا الشيخ يزيد بن بيان و أبو الرجال الأنصاري آخر (ترمذي #2022)
عن أبى موسى الأشعرى قال قال رسول الله -صلى الله عليه وسلم- إن من إجلال الله إكرام ذى الشيبة المسلم وحامل القرآن غير الغالى فيه والجافى عنه وإكرام ذى السلطان المقسط (أبو داود #4845)
