Status of the Mihraab in the Musjid
Question
I would like to know the status of the mihraab in a Masjid?
Answer
A mihraab is erected only out of convenience. Perhaps the convenience is to determine the centre of the musjid. Originally, it was constructed for other reasons in the time of Islamic rulers, like for security purposes.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
