Appointing an organisation to distribute one's zakaat
Question
Can you please outline the most appropriate way of giving sadaqah as well as discharging zakaat? Will a monthly debit order through a reputable aid organisation be in order?
Answer
If you are quite sure that they will use it in the right avenues and they are quite well equipped with the masaa'il pertaining to zakaat then it is permissible to give it to them.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.

( وشرط صحة أدائها نية مقارنة له ) أي للأداء ( ولو ) كانت المقارنة ( حكما ) كما لو دفع بلا نية ثم نوى والمال قائم في يد الفقير أو نوى عند الدفع للوكيل ثم دفع الوكيل بلا نية أو دفعها لذمي ليدفعها لأن المعتبر للفقراء جاز نية الآمر ولذا لو قال هذا تطوع أو عن كفارتي ثم نواه عن الزكاة قبل دفع الوكيل صح ولو خلط زكاة موكليه ضمن وكان متبرعا إلا إذا وكله الفقراء وللوكيل أن يدفع لولده الفقير وزوجته لا لنفسه إلا إذا قال ربها ضعها حيث شئت (الدر المختار 2/ 268)
( التوكيل صحيح ) بالكتاب والسنة قال تعالى فابعثوا أحدكم بورقكم ووكل عليه الصلاة والسلام حكيم بن حزام بشراء ضحية وعليه الإجماع وهو خاص وعام (الدر المختار 5/ 509)
