How is Eid salaah performed?

“The correct procedure is to have the Dua immediately after the Eid Salaah and not after the Khutbah. The reason for this is that generally Du’aas take place after those Salawaat which are performed with Jamaa’ah, as is the practice after the daily Fardh Salawaat. In the same manner, Eid Salaah also takes place with Jamaa’ah.”

“1. If a person joined the Eid Salaah after the extra Takbeers were made and the Qira’ah has commenced, he should immediately make the extra Takbeers softly. If he joined the Salaah whilst the Imaam was in ruku, he should make the extra Takbeers and go into ruku if he feels that he will get the imaam in ruku.”

“The Khutbah of the 2 Eids is Sunnah. It is not Waajib to sit for the Khutbah. However, if one was sitting and the Khutbah commenced, then it becomes Waajib to listen to the Khutbah. If one gets up and leaves, then he will be sinful. Hence, one should refrain from getting up and leaving. [Re:- I’laa-us-Sunan Pg.144 Vol 8]”

“In principle, one is allowed to do his Qurbani after the first ‘Eid Salah is performed in his city irrespective of whether he has performed the ‘Eid Salah or not.”
