How do I find the qiblah direction?

“Primarily, one is not allowed to face the exact Qibla while relieving himself/herself nor turn his/her back towards Qibla as mentioned in various Ahadith due to the sanctity of the Qibla.”

“It is disliked to sleep on one’s stomach or with one’s legs facing the Qiblah without a valid reason. All other positions are permissible provided the ‘awrah is covered.”

“It is not permissible for one to face in the direction of the qiblah or to face one's back towards the direction of the qiblah while relieving oneself. The Fuqaha explain that if the toilet is built 24 degrees or less from the direction of the qiblah, it will not be permissible to relieve oneself in such a toilet.”

“Spreading one's feet towards the Qiblah intentionally without a valid excuse is Makrooh e Tanzeehi, therefore it is better to avoid it. If it is done with an excuse, or by mistake, then it is not regarded as being Makrooh. This is just as it has been mentioned in Fataawa Shaami:”
